Aurora Sottimano

Aurora Sottimano is a Senior Fellow of the Centre for Syrian Studies (St Andrews University, UK) and a Visiting Lecturer at the Centre for International Studies of the University Institute Lisbon (CEI-IUL, Portugal). Sottimano's expertise lies in the political economy and international relations of the Middle East. Her research projects include the economic policies of Baʻathist Syria and the resistance axis Syria-Iran-Hezbollah (forthcoming books) as well as the role of trade unions and the notion of social justice during and after the Arab Spring. She has conducted field research in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Bahrain and Iraq.
