Delivering a message to the UN

Lana is a 10-year-old girl who is very passionate about Syria and the Syrian cause. She wrote a letter to the United Nations (UN) headquarters asking for help for Syria. The young girl, who seems to be a second generation Syrian expatriates expresses what many Syrians are going through. She calls for attention to the refugees, children, and the students of Syria, who are not able to attend school, and to many other issues being faced by Syrians.

To deliver her message, Lana, travels from Toronto to New York to personally deliver the message to the UN. When Lana gets to her destination, she stands in front of the UN building and reads:

“I am the Syrian refugee who floods her poem in the middle of booms, blood, and smoke screaming as she felt her little sister’s hand let go. I am the little girl who will never get an education because of the dictator that has used our school as presents.”

Talented Lana who lives her life as a western child having all the privileges that any western child could have, couldn’t ignore what other Syrian children are going through, and wanted to stand up in front of the UN and send a message to the world.
