In his speech about the intervention on Syria, President Obama said: "When dictators commit atrocities, they depend upon the world to look the other way." that is where the hashtage #dontlookaway started. Syrian-Americans at the Syrian American council started hashtaging about it to further educate the world about why the Syrians have had enough from Assad. The campaign was also on change.org. 

 

Then the hashtage started spreading further. Syrians on Twitter, and facebook were asking the world to stop looking away as if nothing was going on in Syria.

 

 

 

Many focused on actually telling the wold why it shouldnt look away.
