Ziad Homsi is a photographer that had been photographing and filming in Duma in the suburbs of Damascus. He was on his way back to Ghouta in the suburbs of Damascus when the ISIS (Islamic state in Iraq and Sham) kidnapped him. After the news spread, many friends and fans of the work that Ziad does were calling for his freedom. Ziad had been detained twice by the Assad security forces and his father is still detained in there.

Even the Free Syrian Army protested in Duma asking the ISIS to leave Syrians alone! They sprayed graffiti of Ziad's face.
