The movie 99 is a humanitarian/artistic cry of freedom by director “Rawad al-Zaqout”, who used his bare body to form this piece of art that deamnds freedom for detainees in the prisons of the Syrian Regime and the the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL).

A body recoiling in a prison cell, trying to expand the limits of its freedom, but remains tied up to the suffocating shackles of its walls. Again, the body attempts to trick itself into adaptation, it tries adjusting to the room's thick air, but still fails.

It's the prison's world and this cell alone can make the rules, but one thing CAN break through this concrete walls into freedom. The actor realizes it's his spirit not body, only his spirit can save him from this hell.
