For You, Syria

05 April 2014

From a simple campaign for humanitarian relief, launched to help Syrian refugees in Jordan, the group “For You, Syria has grown to providing food and medical assistance to Syrians living in Syria and all refugee countries. The group's main focus is on internally displaced Syrians and refugees to help relieve the ever-worsening humanitarian conditions they are enduring.

Since October 2013, the team of three activists, Manar Hamsho, Ranim Daghistani and Muhammed Daghestani, have been providing medical, financial and moral support to fellow Syrians, as part of a project they personally deem “not connected to the fall of the regime, but rather an indefinite act of humanity, that may, we hope, evolve into a humanitarian organization, helping those in need, regardless of their race, gender, nationality or religious beliefs.”

The team regularly conducts field trips to report on the necessities of affected families, and prioritize their needs. The team then supplies aid material, in coordination with local councils and relief groups working inside Syria.

For You Syria has taken part in many aid campaigns and initiated several others, including: “Hunger Massacre in Ghouta: Save the Children”, a campaign that aimed to supply the besieged children of Ghouta with milk. The “Hand in Hand, We Will be Warm” campaign, that provided winter clothes for the unprivileged neighborhoods in Aleppo. The “Mothers of Martyrs, We Are Your Children” initiative, which targeted mothers who have lost their children in battle and under torture.

Up to this point, there has not been any specific organization supporting the project financially. The team relies on donations made by friends and “good-hearted people”, while collaborating with a number of relief groups and organizations, that share the group's “humanitarian objective”.
