Civil activists based in the city of Qamishli founded the team Life of Youth at the end of 2013, to develop joint action between different Syrian organization and institutions.
The team has two sets of activities:
The first program focuses on children through education and psychological support. Rainbow, a project carried out in Qamishli for two months, targets displaced children who were denied education and disabled children. The group is currently working on implementing the same project in Amuda, under the name Rainbow 2.
The second program focuses on providing training courses on the topics of civil peace, empowering civil society and organizing projects and campaigns. A team of trainers have engaged numerous activists in the area within these courses and workshops.
Life of Youth has participates in many global festivals to raise public awareness of issues symbolized by these events, including Human Rights Day, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Children Day. The group has also launched their own campaigns, like Our Mother, an awareness campaign focusing on women and mothers of martyrs.
The activists carry out their work among numerous difficulties, most notably the regime's attempts to suffocate the civil movement in Syria.
