In pictures: Aleppo without Assad... Joy and Anxiety


After the Syrian regime forces left the city of Aleppo after the start of the ‘Deterrence of Aggression’ operation led by Syrian opposition factions alongside Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham, Omar Alwan's camera travelled to the city in an attempt to capture its features of life.

Aleppo - After the Syrian regime forces and its allies fled Aleppo, following the ‘Deterrence of Aggression’ operation launched by Syrian opposition factions alongside Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), our colleague Omar Alwan's camera toured some of the city's neighbourhoods in an attempt to monitor the features of life in the city. The second largest Syrian city has reached normalcy in some markets, while fears of the consequences of this control, such as deadly air strikes by the regime and Russian planes, prompted many families to leave their homes for a supposedly safer countryside.
