Kifah Ali Deeb
Born in 1982, Kifah Ali Deeb is a Syrian author and visual artist currently residing in Berlin, Germany. She won the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity in children’s literature for her collection, A Turtle’s Tour (2012). She writes for a number of Arab and German newspapers, and is currently the managing editor of Handbook Germany. She was an activist in the Syrian National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change and was arrested several times for her political activity.
